ABOUT MARK BERRY
I'm an English photographer, designer, writer and projectionist with a penchant for the weird and wonderful.
Originally a film programmer and projectionist at the maverick microplex The Cube CInema in Bristol, since 2000 I've carved a niche in the strange and unusual – writing magazine features and photographing the likes of cult movie directors, fan conventions, mexican wrestling events, haunted houses, freaks (physical and otherwise), tattooists and the tattooed, eating contests, burlesque legends and the occasional singing transexual. The work has been internationally published in books, films, newspapers and magazines – I was a regular contributor to Bizarre and SFX for a number of years and have also appeared in Rue Morgue, Maxim and Fangoria.
In the mid-2000s, I edited and published Naked - Magazine of the Weird and Wonderful, a mag-in-a-book format, full of popular and unpopular culture with a kink. Contents included cult movies, interviews, comics, burlesque, science fiction, mondo DVD reviews, strange music and just plain weird shit.
Since 2007 I have lived in Hollywood, CA and have continued the pursuit of the weird and wonderful by working for the likes of comedyhorror magazine Girls and Corpses , events and art book publisher Baby Tattoo and cult DVD/Blu-ray producers Severin Films – the latter two for whom I've become their senior designer creating coffee table art books, key arts and advertising materials.
